6/24/2023 0 Comments Crooked letter by caseAs the investigation unfolds, it seems less and less likely that Larry is responsible for either girls’ disappearances, and Silas realizes he was not only a terrible friend, but also a terrible brother. Although Silas (black, athletic and popular) and Larry (white, awkward and castaway) had secretly bonded over hunting, fishing, and playing in the woods as children, they had not spoken in 25 years due to the disappearance of a mutual love interest who went missing after a date with Larry. Due to lack of evidence, Larry remained free, but the locals dealt out a lifetime of punishment by ruthlessly and incessantly vandalizing his home, permanently marking as a dangerous sociopath, and accusing him of kidnapping the second girl two decades later. Silas Jones, constable of a small town in Mississippi following a failed Baseball career, is forced to finally face his past when Larry Ott, the mechanic’s son, is shot and nearly killed during a missing person investigation.
